Many believe Job to be the earliest book of the Bible. In this complex book, we meet a man named Job whose life completely falls apart - and we watch him and his friends wrestle with the deep questions of God and suffering. Job is famously the book of the Bible all about suffering - but it's also about true worship. The question The Satan poses at the very start of the book is whether anyone actually loves God, or whether we just use God to get what we really want - an easy life. As Job’s life crumbles, the whole cosmos holds its breath to see if he’ll stick close to God or walk away. In one of the Bible’s most difficult books, we’re invited to sit in the ash heap with the Bible’s first man of sorrows, as he points us forward to the ultimate Man of Sorrows to come.
