The book of James is a historic letter written 12 years after the resurrection by Jesus' younger brother, James. After the resurrection, James quit his job and became a leader in the church of Jerusalem. James was eventually stoned & clubbed to death in 62 AD for preaching ‘Jesus was God’ (recorded by Josephus, Clement, Hegesippus, & Eusebius). Supposedly his last words echoed his brothers: “Father, forgive them; they don’t know what they do”. James’ letter is likely the earliest book in the New Testament (written around 45AD). James writes to all Christians everywhere to help them discern between real faith and dead nominal faith: James’ bold message is that real faith always shows itself in real life.
