Hi there!

We are Danbury Mission Church. We’re a diverse & joyful community built on the life & love of Jesus. Our mission is to point everyone to Jesus. This website will tell you a bit about us; you can find out about our beliefs, services, and events. But the best thing is to come and see.

We’d love to get to know you too. We look forward to welcoming you at a Sunday service - you’ll find answers to commonly asked questions below to plan your visit. We’d also love to invite you to our next Newcomers’ Tea at the coffee shop one Sunday afternoon.

We know visiting a new church can be a daunting experience (especially if you’ve never been to church before or you don’t know anyone yet), so let’s walk it through so you know what to expect.

Commonly asked questions

Our first-time guests are really important to us. As soon as you arrive you’ll be greeted by our parking and welcome team to help you in the right direction and find a seat. Everyone is welcome - you don’t need to look, sound, or dress a certain way - you don’t need to be a ‘churchy’ person or have everything about faith figured out. Here are some commonly asked questions.

  • Our Sunday service is 70 minutes with refreshments served afterwards.

  • Both our morning services follow a similar pattern. We start & end with singing songs to God. A member of the church prays & reads the Bible from the front, followed by a 30-minute talk on the Bible text. We teach consecutively through books of the Bible and try to make the big point of the passage the big point of our talk. Refreshments are served afterward.

  • Both our morning services are family-friendly! We have a créche and amazing children’s groups available during the service for ages 2-14. All our leaders are trained and DBS checked. There’s also a private viewing gallery upstairs for nursing mums. Everyone starts together in the service and kids leave for groups about 10 minutes in.

  • We have accessible parking, accessible toilets, & spaces for wheelchairs in the auditorium. Our welcome team are here to assist. We also have hearing-aid loops & signing available. For those with learning disabilities, we have a tailored group called Causeway at the 11am service.

  • All services are casual dress. Wear what you usually wear.

  • We have our own carpark right outside with plenty of space for you. Our parking team are always on hand to help. We have drop-off points & accessible parking available too.

  • Bibles are provided. We have a friendly team handing them out on arrival. We use a modern translation of the Bible called the NIV. You’re welcome to bring your own Bible if you want to highlight & make notes.

  • Both morning services are the same. Both have crêche and children’s groups. The 11am also has our Causeway group for those with learning disabilities.

  • DM Lates meets on Sundays at 6:30pm. It is a mix of prayer meetings, courses for those exploring the faith, and seminars for those wanting to grow in their faith. (NB: DM Lates is currently taking a break until the 14th April whilst we get our two morning services up and running).

If you have any other questions before your first visit - please call or email our office and we’ll be happy to help. Find out more about our vision, beliefs, leadership, and history on our ‘about’ tab.
